Rotary Dialysis Cell for the Testing of Dissolution Rate of Active Materials in Suppositories and other Lipophilic Samples.

This test accessory can be used in every one of the Pharma Test dissolution testers except the PTDT 7, as this i sa "lowhead" design. This diffusion cell is described in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia. Place the test sample in the cell and seal it off using the tool provided. Now inject approx. 5ml of the dissolution medium into the cell and place it into the main cell housing. Immerse the whole cell into the standard 1 litre vessel which should contoin the dissolution medium at 37°C. The active material will diffuse out through the membrane and into the medium, leaving the bulking agents, wax or cocoa butter, behind. It con now be sampled through the sampling tube provided and analysed for active content.
