PTFC 2 Fraction Collector
Whenever automated sampling is required, the PTFC2 fraction
collector together with a suitable pump offers an ideal choice. This instrument
can be used with 6 or 12 position baths as well as with instruments of other
manufacture. A basic sampling sequence can easily be programmed from the keypad
on the PTFC2. The PTFC2 fraction collector can also be controlled via the keyboard
of the PTWS dissolution bath. Connect the system components together and enter
the sampling times for semi automated operation. |

Peristaltic Pump
Our system compatible peristaltic pumps can be delivered in
either an 8 or 16 channel version. It has to be emphasised that a peristaltic
pump does not have a delivery accuracy of a syringe pump which is described
below. Improvements in dosing accuracy can however, be achieved by slower pump
revolution rates.

 |
Multi-Syringe Pump This pump is supplied with either 8 or 12 syringes. Each position
contains a 15 ml glass syringe and an integrated 3-way valve for sample
obstruction and delivery. The instrument has firmware routines to ensure
complete removal of all air in the sampling lines and syringes prior to
sample dosing. |

DFC-01 PT-DT7
Dissolution Tester connected to PTFC 2
A typical semi automated dissolution test system is
composed of the following instruments: PT-DT7 Dissolution Bath, Sampling
Tubes, Tygon or PTFE tubing installation, Peristaltic or Syringe Pump, and
PTFC2 Fraction Collector. The pump can be supplied for a system without or
with medium refilling; this defines the choice of either an 8 or 16
channel pump. The sampling program can be installed from the PTFC2 keypad
and allows the collection of upto 20 sample sets with 7 samples in each
set. The sampling tubes are permanently installed in the dissolution
vessels. The sampling tubing sets maybe made up of either Tygon or Teflon.

DFC-02
PTWSIIIE / PTWS3CE Dissolution tester connected to PTFC2
A typical semi automated dissolution test system is
composed of the following instruments PTWS lllE/PTWS3CE Dissolution Bath,
S7ó Tubing Horness including sompletube holders, Tygon or PTFE tubing
installation, Feristoltic or Syringe Pump, and a PTFC2 Fraction Collector.

DFC-03 PTWS 300 /
PTWS 600 Dissolution Tester connected to PTFC2
Take samples from all 8 vessels using the EPE automated
sampling manifold. In this case, the sampling tubes may either be left in
the vessels during the dissolution period or placed in the vessels when
required. After the sampling period, the EPE retracts and the sampling
manifold is raised out of the solutions. Upgrade the system with the
synchronous tablet drop magazine with combined vessel covers. Once again,
pump selection as well as tubing material are based on individual
requirements, as is the option for medium refilling.

DFC-12 PTWS 1200
Dissolution Tester connected to PTFC 12
Unlike the systems described above using the PTWS 12E and D6E,
samples here may be taken either using fixed sampling tubes or the EPE
adapted for 12 vessels. Again, use the modified double arm PTFC2 (PTFC 12)
to collect up to 10 sample sets per 6 vessels. Medium refilling is also
not possible with this particular configuration..

DFC-D6
PTWD6E Dissolution Tester connected to PTFC 2
A typical semi automated dissolution test system is
composed of the following instruments:
PTWD6E Dissolution Bath, 2 off s76 Tubing Hareness, Tygon or PTFE tubing
installation, 2 Peristaltic or Syringe Pumps, and 2 PTFC2 Fraction
Collectors. |
|
DFC-1200
PTWS12E Dissolution Tester connected to PTFC 12
Using a modified PTFC2 (PTFC 12) with a double arm
feature, samples may be taken from all 12 dissolution vessels (a maximum
of 10 sets) and stored for subsequent analysis. Medium refilling in this
configuration is not possible owing to the number of pumped sample lines.
Use the 16 channel peristaltic pump or indeed the 12 station syringe pump
for this application. The sampling tube types are the same as for the PTWS
3 series and remain in the sample vessels throughout the analysis, or EPE
12 automated sampling manifold is used. |

DFC-MB6 PTW
MB6 Dissolution Tester connected to PTFC2
Use the specially modified PTW-MB6 dissolution tester
with moveable (motorised) water bath to collect samples from both types of
media, with up to 20 sets of samples in total. In this case the modified
EPE is actually fixed to the dissolution bath "head" and
therefore moves with the head when it is raised to let the bath
travel forward so that the dosage form may now be immersed and analysed in
the second buffered medium (normally pH 6.8). Usea peristaltic or syringe
pump for this application. |
